THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Three Rivers is continuing to deal with flooding problems.
As last reported, the Saint Joseph River was sitting at around 8 feet on Monday in Scidmore Park.
A report by the National Weather Service indicates that levels are expected to reach a level of anywhere between 8.5 and 9 feet between Wednesday and Thursday.
If the level reaches 9 feet, evacuation of some of the park zoo animals will be carried out.
Officials also warn that these types of levels may cause flooding in basements of homes and businesses along S. Main, Green, and Jackson Streets.
Currently, flood conditions are not expected to subside until Monday, January 20.
In taking proper precautions for dealing with flood conditions, drivers are reminded to never drive through patches of water, as it may be too deep to travel through. Officials say one foot of water can be enough to carry away a car.
Officials also warn civilians to never allow children to play in or near flood waters.
