PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are reporting that another person has been hit and killed by a driver in Van Buren County.
An 84-year-old woman died in Paw Paw on Tuesday, January 14th, when she tried to walk across Gemps road and was hit by an oncoming SUV at around 6:15 p.m.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Bronson Hospital following the incident where she later died from her injuries.
Paw Paw police say that the driver who hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and is continuing to cooperate with authorities.
Authorities are cautioning drivers to be aware of pedestrians, especially with less daylight in the winter months.
