MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Marshall gynecologist was in court to face charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct Tuesday.
Dr. Mark Walker of Oaklawn Hospital is accused of groping a woman who was shadowing him when she was a 16-year-old student. The incident allegedly took place in 2011 and the woman is now 23.
Walker was charged in December. The case is overseen by Calhoun County District Judge Tracie Tomak.
According to the woman, Walker led her to an exam room and put his hand in her groin area above her clothes. She did not report the incident until years later when she learned that her younger sister may intern at the same office.
Walker denies the allegations and his defense attorney argues that the testimony is an uncorroborated statement.
Walker has been an obstetrician and gynecologist in Marshall since 1995.
