KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Sheriff Matt Saxton has been chosen to serve as the next executive director of the Michigan Sheriffs’ Association.
The MSA Board of Directors selected Saxton to replace former Allegan County Sheriff Blaine Koops, who is leaving the executive director position at the end of April.
Saxton has served at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office since 1994 and was elected Sheriff in 2013 and is currently the vice president of the MSA.
He’s expected to start the executive director position after contract negotiations.
