BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Officers are looking for a suspect who attempted to rob a donut shop with a BB gun before fleeing the scene.
The Battle Creek Police Department says that a man attempted to rob the Sweetwater’s Donut Mill on Capital Avenue near Beckley Road around 12:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 4th.
The suspect brought with him a BB gun into the store, where he threatened a clerk and asked for cash to be handed over.
After moving to another room, the employee made a call to 911. While waiting, the suspect heard the call being made and fled the location.
Police later discovered a BB gun near the location, but following a search with a K-9 unit were unable to track the suspect.
No injuries were reported during the incident and police are saying that no money was stolen from the business.
According to witnessess, the would-be robber was last seen wearing a white hat, black face mask, dark-colored hoodie, and white shoes.
