COMSTOCK TWP., MI (WKZO AM/FM) — State troopers responding to a reported snowmobile theft have arrested a felon after finding the vehicle in their backyard.
MSP was called on Monday for a snowmobile theft at a home in Comstock Township. The troopers followed snowmobile tracks leaving the scene for about three miles, until it led to a Kalamazoo Township home.
Following being issued a search warrant, police found the stolen snowmobile in the backyard and multiple firearms and ammunition. The suspect at the residence is a former felon and is prohibited by law from owning the weapons.
They have been charged with property theft, possession of stolen property, and felon possession of a firearm among other charges.
No additional information regarding the suspect or stolen property has been released by police.
