AUGUSTA, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The YMCA is launching a $2.5 million dollar effort to raise funds for a Southwest Michigan campsite.
The fundraising effort, officially called the Building Character, Building Communities campaign, is marking the 25th anniversary of the YMCA’s Sherman Lake Outdoor Center.
In the initiatives announcement on Tuesday, February 11th, the organization said funding would go toward new investment in facilities, sustainable practices, and funding camp activities.
The YMCA is now seeking public donations to reach their fundraising goals. Officials are saying that donations can be made as a one-time cash gift, a pledge commitment, or with one’s estate.
Details from the campaign highlight proposed rennovations to staff facilities, cabins, lakefront boating docks, and rope courses at the campsite in Augusta.
