KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A boil water advisory has been issued for some residents near Stevens Avenue as crews continue repairs to a main break.
The precautionary measure was issued by Kalamazoo city officials on Thursday, February 13th and impacts several homes located in the city’s Oakwood neighborhood.
Affected areas include Stevens Avenue from Barnard Avenue to Kent Avenue on both sides of the street. That zone does not include the northest and southeast corners of Stevens and Barnard, as well as the northwest and southwest corners of Stevens and Kent.
Also impacted are those residing on Laird Avenue from Hazel Avenue to Edgewood Drive on both sides of the street. The advisory does not cover those on the southwest and southeast corners of Laird and Hazel, and those on the northeast corner of Laird and Edgewood.
Health officials say the advisory is expected to be lifted with 72 hours, or on Sunday, February 16th.
