KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Schools has launched its own smartphone app, giving parents and the district a handy place to get connected with each other.
Superintendent Rita Raichoudhuri says the free app includes a few features right now but will be expanded over the next few months.
“Parents will be able to access their child’s school information from the app. And schools will be able to send push notifications as another means to reach parents.”
It’s been a year in the making and Trustees were glad to hear it’s now available when it was announced at their last meeting. You can find it wherever you download apps to your devices.
School officials say make sure you don’t get it confused with the app for Kalamazoo Schools in Nebraska. Oddly enough, the Nebraska “Kalamazoo” is just down the road from a nearby town named Battle Creek.
