UPDATE: The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Weather Advisory until 1:00 a.m. Tuesday
KALAMAZOO, MI (WNWN) – A blast of wintery weather is expected to cause some slippery driving conditions in parts of Southwest Michigan this afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Allegan, Barry, Van Buren, Eaton, Ingham, and Jackson counties from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Calhoun County has since issued an update to the original advisory, which is now listed to expect snow conditions until 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Forecasters expect snow to develop over most of Southwest Michigan by early evening. The snow will change to rain by mid evening. Snowfall totals are expected around one inch.
The snow this evening may be heavy enough briefly to cause some travel issues in all areas.
