BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — No injuries are reported after crews worked to extinguish a storage room fire at the W.K. Kellogg Institute in Battle Creek.
Firefighters were dispatched before 7 A.M. on Thursday, January 20th after recieving a report of the fire on the second story of the buidling on East Hamblin Avenue.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says that crews located the source of the fire in a storage room, and quickly contained the blaze before extinguishing it.
No injuries were reported during the incident, but the fire deparment says that a portion of the second floor suffered smoke and water damage.
Department officials have stated that a continuing investigation into the source of the early morning fire is now underway.
