ST. JOSEPH, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Battle Creek Fire Department is asking for any information on a suspicious fire at an apartment complex.
Crews were called to 78 Rambling Lane at the Arbors of Battecreek apartment complex off of Capital Avenue Southwest around 7:30 p.m. Monday where they found smoke in the hallway and a small fire on the floor outside of the second floor laundry room.
They quickly extinguished the blaze and it was localized to a small pile of rubbish. There were no reports of injuries but authorities are calling the fire suspicious.
Anyone with information should contact fire department headquarters at 269-966-3519. It’s still unclear how the fire started or what exactly was set on fire.
