LANSING, MI — We are learning more details about General Motor’s plan to pause production of new Cadillacs and Camaros at its Lansing Grand River production facility. The shutdown will impact 1,400 mid-Michigan GM employees.
Production will end on Monday for at least two and a half weeks and possibly longer, according to the car manufacturer. A semiconductor shortage is crimping production of all three Detroit automakers.
“Lansing Grand River Assembly will take downtime as of Monday, March 15 through at least the end of the month,” a GM spokesperson said.
GM continues to leverage every available semiconductor to build and ship our most popular and in-demand products, including full-size trucks and SUVs for our customers.
