ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — St. Joseph County Sheriff deputies are investigating a report of a strong armed robbery that left a man severely injured along the roadway.
It happened sometime early Monday morning on US-131 between Michigan Avenue and North Main Street, also known as US-131 Business, north of Three Rivers.
The 45-year-old man was apparently walking northbound on US-131 when six people jumped out of a vehicle, beat him up, and reportedly stole $350 in cash before fleeing.
The victim suffered several injuries to his face including a chipped tooth and a swollen eye.
Authorities are still looking into the incident and no suspect descriptions have been released at this time.
