EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that the body of a missing woman has been located in Emmett Township.
The body of a 25-year-old woman was first found by authorities Saturday, March 7. Police say that the body has been identified as Alison Sargent of Pennfield Township. Her body was located on East River Road between G Drive North and Raymond Road.
Police say that her body was found burned and are now treating the investigation as a homicide.
Sargent was originally reported missing last week, when she was last reported leaving the Meijer store on Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek.
Police say Sargent left the store driving a black 2012 Dodge Journey with a Michigan license plate of JQ18V.
The vehicle is described as having a pink license plate frame and four different stickers on the back windshield. At the time of this writing, the vehicle remains missing.
Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of anyone involved in this case.
