LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a vehicle pursuit that ended in an arrest Monday.
Police say that around 1 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a gold Jeep SUV vehicle for a speeding violation in the area of Moccasin Dr. near Tamarac Ln.
The driver did not stop, instead leading officers on a chase through the Tamarac subdivision. The vehicle eventually stopped in the area of Tamarac Ln. and Mackinac St.
Once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, who is described as a 20-year-old male from Three Rivers, MI, was taken into custody without incident. Police then discovered that the man was driving with a suspended license and had a loaded handgun in the vehicle.
The suspect was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail and is facing multiple charges. The name of the suspect is being withheld at this time.
