LANSING, MI — Detroit NAACP president Reverend Wendell Anthony says a Michigan State Police trooper from mid-Michigan needs to be fired for keeping his K-9 too long on a suspect in 2020.
Anthony called the body cam footage of the November incident in Lansing “reprehensible” and “the worst example of police misconduct I’ve seen in years outside of George Floyd’s murder.”
Trooper Parker Surbrook is charged with felonious assault for the incident and has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of an internal State Police investigation.
