PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — In accordance with Governor Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order, Portage city officials have announced that the April Quarterly Brush Collection will be delayed by one week.
Officials say that the April collection includes the collection of bagged leaves and ornamental grasses in paper biodegradable yard waste bags. As per the rescheduling, the pickup will now begin on Monday, April 13.
Citizens should note that leaves in plastic bags will not be collected. All participants can refer to the attached map for the new schedule.
Officials note that the pickup delay may be extended further if COVID-19 conditions call for it.
Additionally, the Spring Cleanup Program, which includes the collection of unwanted household items, is currently set to run on schedule and begin on April 20. This schedule may also change if conditions call for it.
