KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A precautionary boil water advisory is being put in place for a portion of Kalamazoo Township at 8 a.m. Monday for a water valve repair.
Kalamazoo city officials say work will begin on Santos Avenue and will result in the advisory for select homeowners.
This affects homeowners on:
- Santos Avenue – From Solon Street to Kendall Avenue, both sides of street. Does NOT include the northeast corner of Santos Avenue and Solon Street.
- Cherry Hill Street – From Santos Avenue south to the dead end of Cherry Hill Street, both sides of street.
- Kendall Avenue – From Santos Avenue and Howard Street, both sides of street. Does NOT include the northeast corner of Kendall Avenue and Howard Street.
The boil water advisory also impacts several apartment complexes including Santos Hill Townhomes, Kendall Ridge North Townhomes, Hillside Village, Kendall Ridge, Kendall Manor Apartments, North Campus Village Townhomes, Mansard House Apartments, Kendall Village Townhomes and the White Hall Apartments, as well as the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Residents should boil their tap water for 2 minutes before drinking or use bottled water for the time being.
Crews hope to lift the advisory by Thursday.
