BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Battle Creek Police Department is encouraging their residents to continue social distancing by reporting some crimes online or over the phone.
They released a statement over the weekend saying that incidents that are not in progress or do not have any injuries should be reported by calling their non-emergency number or on Battle Creek’s website through their “Report an Incident” tab.
Some of those crimes can be things like car larcenies, damaged property, hit-and-run on private property, internet scams, and harassment.
Residents can report these crimes:
- Over the phone: Call the non-emergency number, 269-781-0911, or call 911. Tell the dispatcher you want to make a report over the phone. They will pass along your information, and a TRU officer will contact you.
- Online: Visit p2c.battlecreekmi.gov and click Report an Incident, or battlecreekmi.gov/police and click the Online Reporting link on the left. You then can enter the information for your police report. Please give as much detail and information as possible. Once you submit the form, an officer will receive it, and contact you within five business days to provide a complaint number, and ask any clarifying questions.
The department says while their services are continuing uninterrupted it’s best to stay home and not report these in person.
Any questions can be answered by the Battle Creek Police Department by calling 269-966-3322.
