KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County’s Administrator says they would like to get their jail inmates inoculated for COVID-19 but apparently, they are not eligible yet. Tracee Moored says they continue to press to have more vaccine shipments sent to Kalamazoo but have had limited success.
We can do about 5,000 doses per day and we are hoping to get enough vaccines to do that many. Right now, we don’t get near that per week.
She also says there is hope that deliveries will be increasing in size soon.
The Biden administration has cut a deal with other drug firms to produce the new Johnson and Johnson vaccine and has invoked the Defense Production Act to boost production at Pfizer and Moderna, which should increase supplies in the coming weeks and months.
