KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — High school events have been put to a halt for the remainder of the school year, but a local theater is hoping to keep the fun alive with a virtual prom event this weekend.
The Kalamazoo State Theatre is hosting a digital rendition of the high school event on Facebook Live, taking place Saturday, April 25th from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Festivities include a set list of songs performed by DJ SicMusiq during which teenage viewers can request songs and ask for shout-outs to friends and classmates.
The state theatre is encouraging participants to take pictures, dress up, and dance along during the live event.
A social media post promoting the event asks viewers to share pictures and tag friends during the Facebook livestream, and parents will even be able to share their own prom photos throughout the performance.
