PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Portage has issued a boil water advisory for homeowners near Romence Road after a water main break was reported on Friday.
City officials say the precautionary measure is in place as crews depressurize a large area of the water main to complete repairs.
Portage water customers on Romence Road (from 349 to 808 addresses only), Bolingbrook Drive, Sparrow Ridge Street, Castlefort Avenue, and Windhaven Court are under the advisory.
Affected residents are advised to boil their tap water for a minimum of one minute before using for drinking, brushing teeth, or cooking.
The city will release another announcement notifying residents when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
