EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A motorcyclist from Battle Creek is injured after he fled from officers in Calhoun County’s Emmett Township.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop for two speeding motorcyclists near East Emmett Street and Maxwell Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, but both bikers took off heading south onto North Raymond Road.
A driver pulled onto North Raymond from Jameson Avenue and was struck when the motorcyclist lost control while attempting to go around the vehicle.
The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old Battle Creek man, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He could also face charges of fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, and driving with expired registration.
Calhoun County Sheriff deputies did not specify if the second motorcyclist was caught.
