KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Borgess Ascension has begun holding COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the public in Kalamazoo.
Bronson Healthcare and the County Health Department has been operating public registries and mass clinics for a few months. Borgess is doing it a little differently. They are using their own patient lists and data base to for 65 and older patients, and working with the County to identify essential workers.
Inoculations were held last week at their campus on Gull Road and more are planned at other affiliated hospitals and clinics around the region and around the state. They say 60% of the vaccines being shipped to Kalamazoo County are going to the local health department and 40% to the Hospitals. That will change when more vaccines become available and shipments also begin going to local drug stores and private practices.
This is inaccurate information. My husband and I both received our first Pfizer Covid vaccine at Borgess on January 27, almost 5 weeks ago at a very well organized clinic held at the hospital auditorium. You really should try to stop favoring Bronson & making Borgess the “second choice” for Kalamazoo healthcare. I tried to get the vaccine through the Bronson patient portal for weeks without success & was just recently notified that our turn was up @ the health department. Thanks to Borgess’s efficiency, we are now “fully vaccinated” as of tomorrow. Thank you.
