PARCHMENT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two suspects are facing felony charges after a robbery at a restaurant in Parchment.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on May 4th at the Subway in the 700 block of Shoppers Lane near South Riverview Drive.
Kalamazoo Township Police say the robbers smashed a window, entered the restaurant, and took off with an undetermined amount of cash.
On May 6th officers then received a tip where they were able to locate the two suspects, obtain confessions, and recover evidence of the crime.
The first suspect, a 20-year-old Kalamazoo man, was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail and the second suspect, a 14-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was released to a legal guardian.
Both suspects are still being charged with breaking and entering with intent, which is a felony of up to 5 years in prison and/or a $2,500 fine as well as larceny in a building which is a felony up to 4 years and/or a $5,000 fine.
The case has been referred to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
