UPDATE: KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety authorities have released the name of the victim in a homicide that occurred Thursday evening, and also announced that they have a suspect in custody.
The victim is Michael Vines of Kalamazoo.
The suspect in the case, whose name has not yet been released, is said to be a 30 year old man from Vandalia, MI.
A spokesperson for KDPS said that the shooter and victim knew each other, and the incident is considered to be a domestic-related homicide.
The investigation is continuing.
KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Police are looking for a murder suspect after a fatal shooting at an apartment complex city’s west side Thursday evening.
At around 8:15, officers were called to Element on Main Apartments in the 4500 block of West Main Street on numerous reports of gunshots. When they arrived, the located a male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds who was unresponsive. Life saving measures were attempted, but the victim, identified as a 64-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was later pronounced dead.
