KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety say two citizens were shot and injured Monday afternoon.
The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of South Burdick and Maple Streets, near the border of the Southside and Edison Neighborhoods.
Information about what happened before the shooting is currently unknown, and there are currently no suspects.
Officers say two Kalamazoo men were struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police add that a canvass for potential witnesses and evidence has been completed, and that more information on this investigation will be released as it becomes available.
This shooting happened not far from another non-fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning in the 100 block of West Vine Street. Investigators do not believe the shootings are connected.
