KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As of Monday, June 15, the City of Kalamazoo has begun reopening its city facilities and parks with COVID-19 limitations in place.
Facilities will have limited hours and other precautionary measures in place to protect members of the public and City employees against COVID-19. These hours will be in effect through July 24.
Officials add that many departments are operating at reduced staffing due to ongoing furloughs, and staff that can work remotely will continue to do so at this time.
Members of the public will be required to wear a face covering when entering a city facility. PPE (personal protective equipment) will be available for the public if needed. Members of the public that are sick or have recently been in contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19 should stay home.
Access to City Hall will be through the rear doors only (located on the south side of the building off Lovell Street). Only the first floor will be accessible.
The Treasury & City Clerk’s Office are currently open to the public, but all other offices are available by appointment only.
Current hours for city hall are listed as Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
