KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday night.
Around 8 p.m., police were called to the 1800 block of Vanzee Street near Reed Avenue in the Edison Neighborhood on a report of gunshots in the area.
Officers arrived in the area and located several witnesses who reported hearing and seeing gunfire.
During the investigation, it was discovered that a victim of the shooting had been admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The victim is described as a 22-year-old Kalamazoo resident.
This shooting comes just a day after four homes were shot at in the same block Monday afternoon. Nobody was injured in that incident. Authorities tell MLive that the two incidents could be related. Officers believe three shooters were involved in the earlier incident.
