KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman charged with robbing several banks in the Kalamazoo area has received her sentence, Wood TV 8 reported Wednesday.
Tuesday, Earlisa Johnson received her sentence of 30 months in prison on three bank robbery charges. Each will be served concurrently, but two other counts were dropped.
Johnson had previously pleaded guilty in March.
She was arrested on September 11th, 2019 as a suspect in multiple bank and credit union robberies that took place during the preceding months.
Police took her into custody without incident after linking her to an earlier robbery at Fifth-Third Bank on Portage Road and Huntington Bank on West Main Street.
She had been linked to four robberies in total.
Johnson also admitted to robbing Omni Credit Union on East Cork Street. According to a federal agent, she told a clerk at the location to “put money in the bag, nobody will get hurt, and no alarms please.”
Witnesses described her robbery attempts as “polite.”
Following her release, she will be on supervised release for an additional three years, along with almost $7,000 in restitution and other fees.
