KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A juvenile could be facing charges after a report of a gunshot led to the recovery of a firearm in Kalamazoo’s Milwood Neighborhood.
Officers from Kalamazoo’s Public Safety Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Royce Avenue near Milwood Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after a report of a single gunshot in the area.
When they arrived they found a juvenile who was walking in possession of a firearm. Authorities seized the firearm and the juvenile was released to a guardian.
It’s unclear if the single gunshot heard was shot by the juvenile. Officers say the investigation is being forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office for their review and charging decision.
