SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Bedford Township man is dead after a crash in Calhoun County.
It happened just after 3 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Helmer Road and Goguac Street in Springfield, near the Battle Creek Executive Airport at Kellogg Field.
Calhoun County Sheriff deputies say the 46-year-old man was attempting to turn south onto Helmer from Goguac when he turned into the path of a northbound vehicle.
Following the crash he was rushed to Bronson Battle Creek where he later died from his injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries.
The Calhoun County Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident. The victim’s name has not been released and no other details have been provided at this time.
This comes just four days after another crash left a motorcyclist in critical condition at the same intersection.
