BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is in custody after a gun and drug bust in Calhoun County.
The Southwest Enforcement Team conducted undercover work and then a search warrant at an apartment building in the 100 block of West Street in Battle Creek on Tuesday where they found a man, a woman, and four children under the ages of eight at the residence.
Detectives seized powdered and crack cocaine, scales and packaging material, a loaded handgun, a stun gun, and body armor at the home.
The 28-year-old man was arrested and booked at the Calhoun County Jail for multiple counts of delivery of dangerous drugs, possession with the intent to deliver dangerous drugs and possession of a firearm. No word on if the woman is facing any charges.
Child Protective Services was notified about the young children at the apartment.
Detectives from SWET East, SWET South, Battle Creek SIU and Battle Creek GSU, State Troopersand Emergency Support Team Troopers helped with the investigation.
