KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has identified two persons of interest in a shooting that occurred last week in the 1200 block of Ogden Avenue.
Around 9 p.m., witnesses reported that shots were fired between two automobiles in the area engaging in a “rolling gun battle,” according to the press release.
When first responders arrived they located two victims, a 5-year-old and a 12-year-old, who were struck during the shooting. Officers say they were not involved and were just playing on the nearby sidewalk when the incident occurred.
One child was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the second child did not require hospitalization.
