PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Portage are reporting a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon at a local apartment complex.
Around 2 p.m. Sunday, Portage officers responded to Selinon Park Apartments located at 1615 East Centre Avenue for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers located spent casings on the ground and what appeared to be two bullet holes in an apartment building.
Officers were then informed by a 23-year-old Portage resident that she had discharged her handgun after being threatened with assault by a 23-year old Kalamazoo resident, which was a result of an earlier confrontation.
There were no reported injuries and no arrests were made. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
