KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo is reporting a water main breakage affecting traffic as of Tuesday afternoon.
At this time, the Kalamazoo Department Public Safety and Public Services Department are currently on scene at South Pitcher Street between Lovell Street and South Street.
Officials say the breakage has caused significant damage to the roadway and it is currently unsafe to drive on.
Crews are working to fix the issue and are asking the public to avoid the area if possible. A preliminary estimate of roadway closure is 12 hours.
All Northbound South Pitcher Street traffic is being routed onto Lovell Street and all Southbound South Pitcher Street traffic is being routed onto South Street.
