UPDATE: The Barry County Sheriff’s Department has identified the victim as 18 year-old Gracyn-Michael Brickley of Ionia County.
HASTINGS MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Barry County authorities are continuing their investigation into a possible homicide that occurred Wednesday.
Nashville Police and County deputies were called to a residence on Guy Road in Maple Grove Township just after 1:00 p.m. on a report of a possible assault/murder.
Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a female victim, covered in snow.
Shortly afterward, a male suspect was taken into custody.
The name of the victim has not been released.
The suspect, Andrew John-Lawrence Lafey of Nashville has been arraigned on one charge of Open Murder and one of Felony Firearm.
Lafey is alleged to have beaten and then shot the victim.
Bail was set at $500,000.
