KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department (TKPD) is reporting a vehicle chase that ended with a two vehicle crash and two arrested suspects.
Around 6:50 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 3200 Block Butternut Lane on a report of shots fired. A gray Jeep was seen leaving the area, which had been identified as having possible involvement.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away.
The Jeep, which was driven by a 40-year-old Paw Paw resident, collided with a vehicle at the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and North Park Street. After the crash, the driver and three passengers of the Jeep fled on foot. The driver and two passengers were apprehended.
The third passenger has not yet been identified or apprehended.
The two apprehended occupants are identified as:
- A 30-year-old male from the City of Kalamazoo
- A 30-year-old female from the City of Kalamazoo
Everyone involved in the traffic crash was evaluated at local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver and male passenger were lodged at the Kalamazoo county Jail on charges and outstanding warrants. The female passenger was admitted to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
