KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A road in Kalamazoo’s Vine Neighborhood is closed due to a recent water main break.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety and the Public Services Department released a statement around 11 p.m. Monday saying that crews were on scene of a water main break on East Crosstown Parkway between South Park Street and South Westnedge Avenue.
Officials say the breakage has caused significant damage to the roadway and it is currently unsafe to drive on. Because of this, East Crosstown is closed between South Park and South Westnedge as they work to repair the break and the road.
In addition, the western most lane of South Park is closed due to water flowing into that lane. There is no current restoration time due to the extent of damage to the impacted area, according to officials.
Drivers should avoid this area for the time being.
