ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a sport motorcycle chase ended with one arrest on July 30.
According to police, this chase began in Indiana.
Just after 11 p.m., authorities from Lagrange, IN requested assistance after pursuing the suspect into Michigan. The Sheriff’s office was able to locate the pursuit traveling westbound on Fawn River Road near Balk Road.
The pursuit continued westbound on Fawn River Road at speeds exceeding 100 mph until reaching Sevison Road.
At that time, White Pigeon Police redirected the suspect back eastbound. The suspect turned north onto Huff Road and continued to US12, which is where the pursuit ended after the suspect side-swiped a patrol vehicle.
The suspect has been identified as a 34-year-old male from Constantine. He was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail on several charges including fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving, driving with a suspended/expired license, no registration and no insurance.
Authorities in Indiana will also being seeking charges for the offenses that occurred in their state.
