RICHLAND TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Icy roads may have been a factor in a fatal single-car crash in Richland Township.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies were called to the 10,000 block of North 32nd Street not far from Gull Lake around noon on Tuesday and found a vehicle in the icy roadway overturned onto its roof.
A 56-year-old Thomas Barton from Hastings was the only occupant in the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash but they are still investigating.
