KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Township authorities have released the name of the man who was found dead in a home that caught fire early Thursday morning.
They say they found the body of 71-year-old Gary Selig, after they have brought the flames in the home in the 4000 block of Grand Prairie Road under control.
The fire was reported by a passerby and the home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
Authorities were called to the same home on January 13th after reports of multiple gunshots.
No one was injured in that shooting and detectives will be looking for a connection, if there is one.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department is still investigating.
