LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The budget proposal that Governor Whitmer announced Thursday is a record-setting 67.1-billion-dollar plan, and has in it a provision to begin refilling the rainy-day fund in Michigan.
State Budget Director David Massaron said that the proposed budget will put 175 million dollars back into the budget stabilization fund, as state officials call the rainy-day fund, which is designed to help Michigan maintain services while revenues and operating costs change.
