KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — We had been told that the sudden thaw after the Polar Vortex would cause more water main breaks. A rupture on Alamo Avenue has now prompted health officials to declare a boil water advisory that includes many homes in the West Douglas and Westwood neighborhoods.
Homeowners in the advisory area should boil their water for a couple of minutes before ingesting it.
Bottled water will also work.
The water is safe for bathing and showering.
They should have test results back by Tuesday.
See the map for the area impacted.
