TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — The Department of Environmental Quality has rescheduled a public hearing on a permit requested by Texas Township to end flooding near Eagle and Crooked Lakes.
Homes have already been flooded and 400 are threatened by waters that continue to rise every time it rains or snows.
A Delegation from the Township met with new DEQ Director Liesl Clark Wednesday and Sheriff Rick Fuller says he was part of a delegation that traveled to Washington to press the matter with Cong. Fred Upton last week.
The original hearing date was scrubbed because of last week’s extreme cold. It has now been rescheduled for this Monday the 11th at the KVCC Campus at 7pm.
We have an address right here to submit written comments on the permit application to the DEQ.
