KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Organizers of this year’s polar plunge in Kalamazoo say they raised just over $43,000 for Special Olympics during the Saturday morning event at Bells Brewery.
It’s the fourth year in a row that Bell’s has hosted the fundraiser behind the Eccentric Café.
This year over 235 people took the plunge into the freezing cold water.
Special Olympics will hold 30 Polar Plunges this season. This weekend they were also held in Holland, Mt. Pleasant, Bay City, Alpena and Cheboygan.
