COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — The Eric Zapata Memorial Foundation says it will no longer be hosting the EZ 5k and 10k run, which was usually held in April.
The Foundation says it was making the announcement with a heavy heart.
They have used the money raised by the annual event to fund scholarships for law enforcement recruits, training opportunities and equipment.
The event was in remembrance of Public Safety Officer Eric Zapata who was killed in the line of duty seven years ago this April.
