KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two robbers are now in the Kalamazoo County Jail after they led officers on a chase stealing a cash register from a gas station.
Public Safety officers were called to the 3500 block of South Sprinkle Road near I-94 just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after reports of an armed robbery.
The suspect claimed he had a weapon but it was never seen and fled on foot with the cash register when authorities arrived.
A K-9 track was launched and officers obtained surveillance footage where they identified the suspect’s getaway vehicle.
Around 4 a.m. the vehicle was located in the 1000 block of East Stockbridge and two suspects were found inside the home and arrested for armed robbery charges.
No names or any further details have been released at this time.
