COOPER TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — The shooting of a Cooper Township businessman appears to have been the result of a love triangle that turned violent.
Sources say gunshot victim Brent Hook was dating Peter Zwart’s estranged wife, and may have been the reason for their pending divorce.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says after Zwart shot Hook at his business on D Avenue Tuesday morning, he notified family members what he had done.
Fuller says deputies were redirected to Zwart’s home near Otsego, but there was no arrest because Zwart was already dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Fuller say that closes their case.
Hook remains in critical condition at Bronson Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, where he is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
